Abaqus IITG 2025 Installation Steps:

Note: Installing Abaqus can involve several components, including the Abaqus software packages, environment variables, Java Runtime Environment (JRE), Apache TomEE, and the DS License Server.

The license server address and installation files used in this guide are specific to IIT Guwahati. Make sure you have authorization to use the provided license server and are connected to the IIT Guwahati internet network. If you are still facing any issues, please contact the CAD Lab of the Mechanical Engineering Department, IIT Guwahati.

##################### Download and Unzip Files ##################################

1. Download Abaqus files from the intranet/source

2. Right click on each zip file and go to properties and unblock --> apply--> okay

3. install 7 zip --> unzip all files using 7 zip only

%%%%%%%%%%% Make Environment %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%

1. Press windows key --> search environment --> go to edit system environment

2. Click on Environment Variables --> Click on New (Below) --> Put the

Variable Name: DSLICENSING

Variable Value: DSLS

3. Then make again a new variable as:

Variable name: DSY_DISABLE_WINNET

Variable Value: TRUE

Then press ok --> ok

%%%%%%%%% Start Installation %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%

1. Run setup inside the folder "1" as administrator

2. Select default selection --> Select all packages

3. On license server configuration: select DSLS

Put License Server 1 : 172.17.0.101:4085

Next --> Next ... --> Install --> Allow if something pops up

4. Component selection : Select all 3 ( Isight Desktop, SIMULIA Execution Engine , ...)

5. Select the archive of a supported version of JRE

Click on the link: IBM Semeru Runtime Downloads. (https://developer.ibm.com/languages/java/semeru-runtimes/downloads/)

Select and Download: (the zip file)

25.0.0.0 zip

Open JDK 25+36 Windows x64 GPLv2+CE JRE

OpenJ9 0.55.0

Browse the file path and select the zip file (ibm-semeru-open-jre_x64_windows_25_36_openj9-0.55.0)

6. Select Launch TomEE Configuration Utility --> Next

7. Select the archive of a supported version of Apache TomEE Plus

Go to Apache TomEE website by clicking on the link

Click on TomEE Microprofile ZIP on the website

Click on the link: https://dlcdn.apache.org/tomee/tomee-11.0.0-M1/apache-tomee-11.0.0-M1-microprofile.zip

Download --> Browse --> select the file

8. Next --> Next --> Keep default --> Close after installation

%%%%%%%% Install License server %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%

1. Go to folder: AM_SIM_Abaqus_Extend.AllOS\1\DS_License_Server\AllOS\1

Install as administrator: SetupDSLSmsi --> Install Only Administator tool

Replace localhost with: 172.17.0.101

Connect the server

2. Run Abaqus cae

3. If there is licence issue then

Make a text file with name: DSLicSrv.txt --> write --> 172.17.0.101:4085 in it

Put this text file in C:\Program Files\Dassault Systemes/Licenses/

Run Abaqus cae again... ENJOY.......
